Good work Jake! I
undersdtand, you have posted the solution already. That's
good. I have not had time to view it yet, but I suspect it had
the same basic idea I had offered earlier.
I am guilty
of trying to offer a solution without having a board in front
of me. I was wrong about the 26-23 move because I offered it
too early. White should have made the sacrifice of 12-8 and
then made the 26-23 move-provided Black took the 11X4 jump. If
instead, Black took the 3 x 12 jump, then White simply moves
18-14. All is well that ends well. Continue the great work.
Again, I don't have a board before me, but I think I have it
correct this time. | |

You do not need a board
Pecan - the solution is in Javascript - meaning you can just
click on various moves and watch the game played out in every
variation! You probably missed the solution in prior posting -
here it is again http://www.checkersusa.com/checkers/pool/tdam/Document/challenge.htm
. Tdam is the greatest! | |

| The lack of
response (read total silence) of the readers hurt the whole
idea of the site as a place of communication. You noticed
that the site slowed down significantly - after the initial
effort to set it up it now waits for the users to use it - and
no one does. We started the conversation on Rules - no
response. Mr. Thompson set a great example with his Legends
and Chicago News - no one followed. APCA just plain does not
answer. I did receive some private letters - which seemed
to indicate the attitude of awe, and the humility of the
senders. They all wanted to WATCH the site grow. Help me
convince them the site is OUR site - it is only US together that can make it
work. Stop with humility and speak up! The site is not a
musium - it is a place for you to communicate!
Now you
see why they find me impatient - but is it that bad to be
impatient for a good cause? Don't many people want me to wake
them up? Probably the same people that were asking for the
site for years.
Many plans, such as various-level
classes, history, internet clubs, tournaments, meetings, open
discussions, - they all depend on user participation. So how
long do you think one should stay patient - a month, a year, 3
years? How long until even you will say it is too long?

You are absolutely correct
Mr Charter; It has helped my game,
It has helped my
computer interest and knowledge and most of
it has
given me a chance to come before friends and fellowship.
I know my good friend shotgun is going to laugh at me
for making
an error, but that is just good clean fun
and we enjoy such good
clean fun.
I would
strongly erge others to take the challenge.

I agree Mr Charter, it is
indeed to sometimes necessary to "GIVE a BOOST". I agree , "To
all things there is a time and a season".
A time to be
patient, and a time to be tackful. And then there is a
time to put away patience and employ good tough love. But
I believe sufficent time must be given to get the word
out. How many VOG players know and realize what a great
idea and a great communications tool the bulletin board
is. Except one has read it in detail they just don't know.
I never knew what great information the bb offered. The
potential is unlimited. So hang in there friends, and in a
little while everybody will have a input and we will be
glad we did. | |
